Beach hazards statement remains in place along the coast with a higher risk for rip currents. This will likely continue through early next week as Hurricane Rafael makes a closer approach to SE TX. Look for a few more showers and storms Thursday with our best chance for rain coming Friday and Saturday. This will be associated with the arrival of our next cold front. This front will help to block Rafael from coming to Houston with the models now keeping it south of our area. Rafael should push into the western Gulf by this weekend as it slows down & gradually weakens back to a tropical storm. Another front is expected by the middle of next week that will increase showers and bring some cooler air late next week.
