Much drier air will continue to filter into the Houston area that will translate into several quiet and rain-free days with lower humidity. Enjoy the cooler, pleasant mornings but plan for warm afternoons with temperatures near 90. Weather is just the opposite for Florida with the approach of Hurricane Milton which is back up to a Category 5! Hurricane Milton is expected to weaken to a strong Category 3 before a Wednesday night landfall near Tampa Bay. But that is still a dangerous Major hurricane! Tampa could get storm surge up to 15 feet with 5-12" of rain and damaging hurricane force winds. Life-threatening surf & rip currents are likely. Milton should exit Florida and start to weaken as it pushes into the western Atlantic Thursday afternoon and evening.
