Houston Weather: Heat and showers on the horizion

Summer season is right around the corner and we are really starting to feel the summer sizzle! Look for temperatures in the 90s this week with heat index values near 100. Spotty storms are possible, especially the next few days with lower rain chances Thursday - Saturday. A few storms could be strong to marginally severe late Tuesday mainly just west of Houston. Hail and brief strong wind gusts would be main threats. Tropics could get more active this weekend into early next week with a possible disturbance or gulf low developing. This could change but it looks like a plume of gulf moisture could be heading our way in about a week.
