Big severe thunderstorm outbreak will continue this evening and tonight stretching from the southern plains through the Midwest & up into the Ohio Valley. Large tornadoes are likely, especially around Oklahoma & North Texas. Line of storms will approach the Houston area tonight and should move in after midnight. Storms are expected to weaken and not be severe by the time they reach Houston. But there's a small chance for a few strong storms tonight NW of Houston up around Huntsville & Bryan. Best chance for rain & storms will be from 2-7am Tuesday for Houston although a few storms could clip Bryan & College Station closer to midnight. Cold from will move in bringing cooler & drier air for Wednesday and Thursday. These will likely be the nicest days of the week with loads of sunshine and cool mornings. Look for more clouds through the weekend with showers returning Sunday and increasing Monday. This means possible impacts to total solar eclipse viewing next Monday.
