FOX 26 Houston Weather Forecast

After three weeks of weather whiplash, it's nice to enjoy some quiet, sunny and dry days! It will be cool the next few mornings starting off in the 40s for Houston. But the afternoons will be mild for January with high temperatures near 70. Dry weather is expected through midday on Friday. Next big storm system is set to push in Friday evening and Saturday. Showers will build in late Friday with widespread rain and some storms likely Saturday morning and afternoon. Models are showing the rain pushing out by Saturday night at this point. But some parts of the area could pick up another 1-2" of rain, especially areas north and east of Houston. We still have some flood warnings from last week's rain with major flooding still going on around the Trinity River at Liberty until Saturday. Moderate flooding is still occurring at the San Bernard River near Boling until early Wednesday. East Fork of the San Jacinto River near New Caney is still experiencing some minor flooding. So watch out for flooding in these areas and get ready for more rain this weekend! Get extra updates and exclusive content only on Fox Local, our app for your smart tv!
