FOX 26 Houston Weather Forecast

The Gulf of Mexico remains quiet, with no tropical activity headed towards SE Texas. But the Atlantic is still busy with Tropical Storm Philippe approaching the Lesser Antilles and Puerto Rico. Philippe should get close to the Northern Leeward Islands and Puerto Rico by this weekend, with 2-4" rain potential. But Philippe is forecast to lose tropical characteristics and weaken to a remnant low by this weekend. A tropical wave in the east-central Atlantic still has a high chance of becoming a tropical depression or possibly Tropical Storm Rina over the next day or two.
