Tropical Weather Update - August 23, 2023

Harold is no longer a tropical system and the last advisory was issued this morning. The remnants of Harold are located near El Paso, TX where an additional 1-2" of rain could fall. Tropical storm Franklin is moving over Haiti and the Dominican Republic bringing an increased flood threat. Franklin will bring the shot for several inches of rain to the Turks & Caicos Islands Thursday. The remnants of former Tropical Storm Emily are in the Central Atlantic with a high chance to turn back into a tropical system over the next 7 days. Another tropical wave in the eastern Atlantic has a low shot for development as it moves WNW.
