The relentless heat wave will persist through the rest of this week with more dangerous heat index values likely. An excessive Heat Warning remains in effect until 7 PM for the Houston area with heat index values up to 115 possible. Heat Advisory is in place from 7 PM this evening until 10 PM Friday. Heat index readings during this period could be as high as 108-112. Remember to protect your dog's paws from the hot pavement, drink lots of water & take it easy in the heat. If you must be outside, find shaded areas and try not to overdo it. Actual temperatures will be close to 100 the next several days with rain chances less than 10% through Saturday. Rain & storm chances increase a bit by Sunday & Monday and even then it will only be isolated. Stay safe in the heat!
