Showers, storms expected after Excessive Heat Warning

Excessive Heat Warning continues through 8 PM for Houston and surrounding areas with heat index values around 113 or higher. Heat Advisories remain in place east for Liberty & Livingston and south around Bay City & Matagorda. Heat index values here could get as high as 110. We will shave a few degrees off our high temperatures over the next few days with more clouds and some showers and storms expected. The best shot for rain and storms will be Thursday where we could have a round in the morning and another round in the afternoon & evening. Isolated storms are possible Friday. Hopefully, you get some of this rain because the heat dome dominates next week with a stretch of triple-digit days likely and more record heat possible!
