Houston weather: Scattered afternoon showers Thursday and a possible storm

It's May in Houston and it's going to start feeling like it with the return of warm, humid days and steamy overnight lows. Showers will also make a comeback with a daily chance for showers and an occasional storm. In the short term, strong storms are possible late today and early Friday especially west of Houston.
