Strong winds expected Thursday evening ahead of severe weather
Strong cold front will roll through SE Texas this evening and tonight, mainly between 7 PM and 11 PM. Threat for severe weather should end by midnight with the line expected to be right over Houston around 10 PM. Although the biggest severe threat & tornado threat will remain over North Texas. Houston remains in a category 2 out of 5 threat for severe weather. This means that a few storms could produce damaging winds, hail & possibly a tornado. If you are heading out to the rodeo, stay alert and make sure you have a way to get warnings. FOX 26 weather app is a great way to do that. After midnight, cooler and drier air rolls in which means pleasant and dry weather for Friday and the weekend. It will be breezy through Friday with strong NW winds of 10-20 mph and gusts to 30 mph. Enjoy the beautiful weekend though! More heat and humidity returns next week.
