Friday morning Houston-area weather forecast
Thanks to an early morning cold front, temperatures are running around 15-20 degrees cooler today in the 60s instead of the 80s. It will get even cooler overnight as Houston dips to around 40 with 30s likely just north of the Houston Metro area. Seasonable January weather will stick around for a couple of days before another big warming trend early next week. The weekend looks dry with warmer weather expected for Sunday. It will also turn breezy Sunday PM with wind out of the South around 15 mph. That may impact some still running in the Houston Marathon during the early afternoon. Otherwise, weather stays quiet until MLK Jr. Day on Monday when spotty showers return. A better chance for showers and strong storms will be with us next Wednesday.
