Decriminalizing Marijuana in the 70s?
Back in the 1970s, President Richard Nixon appointed Pennsylvania Gov. Raymond Shafer to lead a commission to find the effects of cannabis. It found that small amounts of cannabis did no harm to society and recommended against jail time. 50 years later, the report is still cited as a reason to legalize marijuana on a federal level. Officials with the Marijuana Policy Project, who dedicate their time to pushing for marijuana legislation, speaks to Isiah about reasons why marijuana remains illegal.
