A photo of a toddler who appears to be in a cage is being shared by people who say it's a picture of a child separated at the border under the Trump administration's new policy. People are furious that he appears to be caged like a dog. Was that fake? Well, it's a real photo, but it is not from the Trump administration era. This photo is from years ago, during a demonstration in Dallas. Some of the people who posted it as criticism of the Trump administration are saying they stand by their choice to share it, saying it illustrated what the president is supporting.

The hashtag “#SeafoodRain” was trending. That sounds fake, right? Raining seafood? Well, it happened.  In China, a waterspout sucked up oceanlife and flung it onto land. It was like the tornado that picked up Dorothy in Kansas, only instead of cows and wicked witches, you have shellfish and mollusks flying around.

Did a woman delete her man's college acceptance letter in the name of love? Word has it he'd gotten a $50,000 music scholarship, but his girlfriend at the time logged into his email and rejected it, afraid they'd break up if he went away. Was it fake? No. The Canadian clarinet player just found out about the betrayal. This Wednesday a judge ruled the girl derailed his career, and awarded him the equivalent of about $227,000 USD to soften the blow.

Did a man sue McDonald’s because he was still sad after his Happy Meal. A screenshot of an article is going around with the headline, “Man sues for still being depressed after Happy Meal.” If you think, "man you can't make this stuff up," well, yea, you can. This was traced back to a website that only publishes satire. They made up all the details, like that he wanted $1.5 million for his depression. It’s a good reminder to always know your sources.
