TEXAS - NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A Texas pilot has pleaded guilty to transporting almost $500,000 worth of cocaine on a plane that authorities intercepted when it stopped to refuel at a Louisiana airport in September. The Courier reports 22-year-old John David Crow, of Brownsville, was convicted of possessing and conspiring to distribute five kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride. Crow entered the plea before U.S. District Court Judge Mary Ann Lemmon in New Orleans.
CLEVELAND (AP) — Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel struck his ex-girlfriend several times last weekend in Texas, according to a police report released Thursday. However, police in Fort Worth and Dallas have decided not to charge Manziel, who is still facing punishment from the NFL. Earlier this week, the Browns indicated they will release him in March.
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Health officials say a travel-related case of Zika virus has been confirmed in Travis County. A statement from the Austin/Travis County Health and Human Services Department Thursday says that an Austin man younger than 50 contracted the virus while travelling to Colombia, and is the county's first positive case. Department spokeswoman Carole Barasch said that the man was not taken to a hospital and recovered at home.
