Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced plans today to spend $120 million to make our schools safer.
The School and Firearm Safety Plan suggest some school-hardening strategies like reducing the number of entries and exits, adding active shooter alarm systems to schools and having more school marshals – which are teachers who are licensed to carry firearms.
The plan also sets aside millions for mental health screenings and services to help identify students who may be a threat.
Will that plan make a difference? On the Factor to talk about this is former Texas Ranger Chief Tony Leal with PPI Security and Hanin Yadin, former Israeli military now with ISI Training Center.
