Former President Ronald Reagan can be heard making racist remarks about Africans in a newly-discovered tape conversation with President Richard Nixon.

The National Archives released the tape of the 1971 phone call, which was found by the former director of the Richard Nixon Presidential Library, and published online in the Atlantic Magazine.

Reagan called Nixon after the United Nations voted to recognize the people's Republic of China, which upset Reagan because he was a staunch supporter of Taiwan.
