There's nothing subtle about when the President arrives in town. There's Air Force One, the Secret Service and the Governor and Lieutenant Governor greeting him.

It would be understandable if you missed seeing Mercedez Stone and some family members outside the airport with signs, pictures and t-shirts. Her brother Chris Stone died in the Santa Fe High School shooting.

"He just brought a light that was indescribable in our lives." said Mercedez. A light that was snuffed out during a horrible rampage on the campus. Her parents were inside a hangar at the airport with other family members meeting with the President.

Mercedez was not invited, but she had some things to ask him, mainly, "What's your plan?"

"I don't care how large or how small it is at this point because nothing has been done," added Mercedez. "I don't care what it it at this point. It could be something big or small. It could be something that you don't think could change anything at all. Something. I don't care what."

Because her brother was shot through the door of a classroom, Mercedez suggested bulletproof doors, and no trench coats on campus like the one the shooter wore.

Mercedez knows they are small steps, but steps nonetheless.

Did the President address any of her concerns? We don't know. The meeting was closed and no media was allowed.

After the meeting, President Trump's motorcade departed from the airport and buses whisked away the family members, leaving Mercedez and others to wonder what he said and what plans he had.

"Something has to be done before school starts again because it's not going to stop," said Mercedez.

Graduation at Santa Fe High School is on Friday. Mercedez said that as it stands now, summer vacation will stop school shootings, that is, until school begins again in the fall.
