CHARLOTTE, NC. - Pure Pizza of Charlotte, North Carolina, has been praised for a sign explaining why it has a unisex bathroom.
Juli Metcalf Ghazi, who owns the restaurant, was tagged in an image showing the sign and posted to community page for the Plaza Midwood area of the city on January 9 by local resident Larken Egleston.
The sign notes that Pure Pizza has a unisex bathroom because "sometimes gender specific toilets put others into uncomfortable situations.”
These situations range from single fathers with daughters and single mothers with sons to parents with disabled children, members of the LGBTQ community, and “adults with aging parents who may be mentally/physically disabled.”
The sign has received a large amount of praise in the comments section of the Facebook post.
