WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration is sending a directive to the nation's public schools, telling them that they must allow students to use bathrooms and locker rooms consistent with their chosen gender identity. A statement from Attorney General Loretta Lynch that accompanies the directive says, "There is no room in our schools for discrimination of any kind, including discrimination against transgender students on the basis of their sex."
