HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner officially launched his re-election campaign on Wednesday.
The theme of his campaign is "Lift every voice".
"Together, we are building a city where every voice counts,” Turner said. “If you want to know what kind of mayor I will be, just take a look at what kind of mayor I have been – a mayor for all of Houston.”
His priorities for a second term include flood recovery and prevention, transportation and roads economic development and jobs and fiscal responsibility as the city implements Proposition B.
“We have a lot of work ahead of us,” Turner said. “It matters not whether you are a Democrat or a Republican or whether you’re black, brown, white or Asian; whether you’re rich or poor or in between; whether you’re educated or uneducated. What matters to me is that we are all Houstonians, and we will stand and work for Houston and for its future.”
To launch his campaign, Turner unveiled a new website, opened campaign headquarters and invited supporters to a kickoff event on March 30.
