It appears President Donald Trump will get to pick a second U.S. Supreme Court justice.
This is after 81-year-old Justice Anthony Kennedy announced he was retiring from the high court after 30 years. He was appointed by President Ronald Reagan. While a card carrying Republican, Kennedy sided on some major issues with the liberals on the court – from gay marriage to affirmative action to upholding Roe versus Wade.
Now that President Trump is in office, many liberals believe he will appoint a far right judge to replace Kennedy. The president in his first year appointed Neil Gorsuch, who was right of Kennedy but also clerked for the justice.
So what can we expect from President Trump? On the Factor from TSU Law School is Craig Jackson and Dr. David Branham from the University of Houston Downtown.
