Houston Press announces end of print production
Today the Houston Press announced a layoff off 'nearly all staff members and a move to online-only production.
In a lengthy article on the Houston Press website, editor-in-chief Margaret Downing cited declining advertising revenues throughout the industry, a downturn in oil and gas industry, and Hurricane Harvey.
Downing said "nearly all" staff received termination papers today and freelancers will now be producing content under a sole editor.
