Woman killed, suspect in custody following deadly incident

A suspect is in custody following a deadly incident in West Houston on Thursday afternoon. FOX 26's Jillian Hartmann has the latest. 

A suspect is in custody following a deadly incident in West Houston on Thursday afternoon, officials said. 

Houston crime: Suspect in custody after allegedly running over woman with box truck in West Houston

What we know:

According to Houston police, the incident occurred near the intersection of Gessner Road and Westheimer Road outside the Ventura Lofts Apartment Homes.

According to Houston police, witnesses told them a three-person moving crew in a box truck was moving a person out of an apartment. 

Officials said within that three person crew, a man and woman who are in a relationship, got into a fight and the man allegedly ran over the woman with the box truck.

Authorities said the man then drove off in the box truck and officers found him along Crosstimbers Street on Houston's north side. 

The other person, who was part of the moving crew, remained on the scene. 

Officials said the woman was pronounced dead on the scene and the man was taken into custody.

What we don't know:

Officials did not provide the victim or suspect's name involved in the incident. 

Authorities are on the scene investigating the incident.
