Flooding strikes Galveston and Brazoria counties

Exactly one year since the April 18 Tax Day floods in the Houston area, towns south of Houston were affected by heavy rain.

The Danbury Independent School District canceled classes on Tuesday as a result of flooding in the area.

A flash flood watch is in effect until 4 p.m. Tuesday for the following southeast Texas counties:

  • Austin
  • Brazoria
  • Chambers
  • Colorado
  • Fort Bend
  • Galveston
  • Harris
  • Jackson
  • Liberty
  • Matagorda
  • Waller
  • Wharton

A flood warning is in effect until 11 a.m. Tuesday for Brazoria and Galveston counties.
