Donald Trump wins Illinois

BREAKING: Donald Trump will win Illinois.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have won the presidential primary in Florida. For Trump, the Republican front-runner, Florida's all-or-nothing contest represents a momentous win, giving him 99 additional delegates. Clinton has also won the Democratic primaries in North Carolina and Ohio.

MIAMI (AP) — Donald Trump's victory in Florida was a devastating blow to Marco Rubio. Shortly after the results were announced, the Florida senator appeared before supporters to publicly congratulate Trump and to suspend his campaign. Rubio told the crowd in Miami that he knows voters are angry and that there is a hunger for new faces and voices in government.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Votes are also being counted in Ohio, Missouri and Illinois, but all were too close to call as polls closed. Republicans are keeping an especially close eye on Ohio, where Donald Trump is locked in a close race with the state's governor, John Kasich. A victory for Trump in Ohio could put him on the clear pathway to the GOP nomination.

WASHINGTON (AP) — On Twitter, it's being called "#Metromageddon" and "#Metropocalypse." Whatever they're calling it, hundreds of thousands of Washington, D.C., workers are facing a full-day shutdown of the city's subway system known as Metrorail. The system is being shut down for emergency safety inspections of its third-rail power cables.

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A federal investigator says a truck carrying cattle feed hit a train track and shifted it before an Amtrak train derailed in southwest Kansas. The NTSB investigator stopped short of saying the feed truck was the cause of Monday's accident that injured at least 32 people. But he said the impact shifted the track 12 to 14 inches.
