LOS ANGELES - Daveigh Chase, a former child actress known for roles in "Lilo & Stich" and "The Ring," has died, according to a report. She was 35.

Her boyfriend confirmed the news to TMZ saying that Chase died Tuesday from meningitis and an infection in her blood, which caused her to have septic issues and led to her body shutting down.
TMZ was also told that Chase had been admitted to a hospital in Los Angeles earlier this month because of malnutrition.

Daveigh Chase found success in Hollywood at a young age, earning widespread recognition as the voice of Lilo in Disney's 2002 animated hit "Lilo & Stitch" and its subsequent television series. She also provided the English-language voice of Chihiro Ogino in the acclaimed American dub of "Spirited Away."
Horror fans may best remember Chase for her chilling portrayal of Samara, the iconic antagonist in the 2002 horror film, "The Ring." Her performance earned her the MTV Movie Award for Best Villain.
In 2006, Chase joined the cast of HBO's "Big Love" in a recurring role as Rhonda Volmer. She appeared in 32 episodes of the critically acclaimed drama, which centered on a fundamentalist Mormon family practicing polygamy, during the show's five-season run.
Her extensive acting resume also includes roles in "Donnie Darko," "Beethoven's 5th," "Sabrina the Teenage Witch," "ER," "Mercy," and numerous other film and television projects.
Chase's family has launched a GoFundMe campaign, according to TMZ.
