Concord police say a person dressed in a clown suit tried to abduct a baby girl.

The incident occurred at a bus stop in Concord at Willow Pass Road near Waterworld Parkway at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

According to Concord Police Cpl. Chris Blakely, a woman was standing, holding her 1-year-old daughter in her arms when they were approached by a man wearing a clown outfit and a blue wig.

Blakely says the man engaged in a brief conversation then suddenly yanked the girl’s arm in an apparent kidnapping attempt

The girl's mother says she kicked clown in the shin and he ran away.

Police searched the area and couldn't find anyone matching description.

Additional details on the incident in Concord have not yet been released.
