The firefighters had to leave through a window, as they were unable to get to the door, officials say. As they were leaving, the captain received burns and had to be taken to a hospital to be evaluated.
In an update, officials said a probationary firefighter was also injured. They were both taken to a hopistal. The probationary firefighter was released, but the captain remains in the hospital.

HFD officials also shared that Derrick Cox was arrested at the scene and has been charged with felony arson.
It's believed that Cox kicked down the door to his grandmother's house, then started a fire in a bedroom while his grandmother fled to a neighbor's house.
