At least one person is dead, and one other person was injured after a vehicle crashed into a business in Atascocita on Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

What we know:

Authorities said they were called out to the area of FM 1960 and West Lake Houston Parkway due to the crash just after 3 p.m.

According to authorities, the vehicle owner, who was an elderly male, said he hit the wrong pedal and accelerated. 

Officials stated the driver, who was with his wife in the vehicle, was planning on parking in front of Nothing Bundt Cakes.

FULL VIDEO: Authorities provide update after vehicle crashes into Atascocita business

Authorities are investigating after a vehicle crashed into a business in Atascocita killing one person and injuring another. 

Authorities said the vehicle struck two people, a "young lady employee" and she was pronounced dead on the scene. The other person, who was a customer, was transported to the hospital after that person was struck or struck by debris. The customer is in stable condition. 

No one in the elderly driver's vehicle was injured. 

Police said the elderly male driver is cooperating with authorities. 

There were no signs of intoxication, officials said. 

What we don't know:

The employee's name has not been released by authorities. 

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
