Arson suspect in custody in Dollar General store fire case

HOUSTON (FOX 26) — The Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office has taken Jarrod Parker, 28, into custody following a fire at a Dollar General store.

Information submitted to the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office and Crime Stoppers of Houston helped investigators identify Parker as the suspect.

Surveillance video captured a suspect as he poured out lighter fluid and lit several items on fire inside the store on Veterans Memorial Drive near Moorebrook Drive in northwest Harris County. The fire was reported at around 11 a.m. Friday.

The arson suspect was also captured by surveillance cameras as he walked away from the store after the fire started.
