Houston Public Library hosts Summer reading program to combat 'summer slide'

The Houston Public Library is encouraging Houstonians of all ages to participate in its annual Summer Reading Program to help prevent student learning loss, known as the "summer slide". Running through July 31, the free program offers participants the chance to earn prizes—including bicycles, Nintendo Switch consoles, and Kindles—while keeping their minds engaged over the summer.
