Modern Day Slavery

Migrant workers in southern Georgia were allegedly forced to work in slave-like conditions. Some of the abuse involved picking onions at gunpoint, sleeping in camps surrounded by electric fencing, rape, and other threats. Immigration and activists say the country?s own immigration laws lead to cases like this.
