It was earlier this week when a 13-year-old Houston teenager said he was abducted by a group of white supremacists.
A local woman says she found the boy running down the street in distress and crying. That woman even went live on Facebook as police were questioning the 13-year-old boy.
After that horrific story told by the boy, there was little interest put into the story by media outlets—only a handful of journalists covered it. The boy said he was beaten in a cabin or shack but eventually he told police he escaped. So why is there hesitation to cover this reported abduction?
On the Factor to discuss this case and why so few outlets are covering it is Todd Smith with Regal Media and Houston Association of Black Journalists and Managerrie Winston, a journalism teacher.
