HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Around 9:00 last night deputies got a call that there had been shots fired at a house in the Fieldston subdivision. When arriving, they found a man dead in the backyard and a woman seriously injured. A deputy risked her safety to retrieve the injured woman and got her out of the line of fire. Then the gunman fled. Deputies did a search in the area but didn't find anything. Deputies stayed in the area and a few hours later, they heard more shots fired at the house. When they returned, they believed the man was inside the house. SWAT was called out. As SWAT assembled, the garage door suddenly opened. The suspect made an effort to enter a van parked inside the garage. As deputies started approaching and giving verbal commands, he turned around shot himself and died on scene.
