HOUSTON, Texas (FOX 26) - All over the Toyota Center fans were cheering, singing and even performing voodoo, all before game one of the Western Conference Finals.
“I drove all the way from Corpus Christi to see the game, it’s a big deal, I’m an old fan from way back in the 90’s Olajuwon and we got it going again”, says Scott Jones.
While some had tickets, others just came out for the outside festivities like the poster making, taking a picture with Jame Harden’s head and buying official merchandise.
Some traveled all the way from China. “I just love Houston for so long, since Yao was here so I support Houston, the Warriors are a great team but I believe Houston will beat them”, says Duanyi Duan
A few Golden State fans said it was cheaper to fly here for a game than to buy tickets at their home court.
“It was actually better for us to come here and get a hotel and get the tickets and fly in to save money”, says Gentry Goodman.
For those close to court side, the price was far worth the experience getting to see their team do work.
Tunde Tifase says he spent, “close to a grand, close to grand I’ll say that, but’s it’s worth it, I mean you don’t know when the Rockets will come back or be in a situation like this so, I’m excited and hopefully we come out with a win”.
