A South Carolina woman who went missing in August has been found alive, held captive in a storage container, according to the Spartanburg Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Chuck Wright told media outlets Thursday that Kala Brown was found "chained up like a dog" after being kept inside a metal storage container for two months.

FOX Carolina reports that the property owner where Brown was found is listed as Todd Kohlhepp. A convicted sex offender, Kohlhepp was taken into custody.

Brown, 30, and her boyfriend Charles Carver were reported missing in late August. Carver is still missing.
