Victor Mejia is grief stricken.
"They had 11 years of marriage. She was a good woman. They took that away from him," said Magdelina Olievera, who interpreted for her father Victor Mejia.
Mejia told us what he believes happened to his wife of 11 years, Maria Santiago.
"She went to a house because of work," Olievera said.
On Wednesday, Santiago went to a house under construction in Pearland to measure for countertop installation.
Mejia says he spoke to his wife at around noon.
"I love you. That's it," said Mejia
"My dad knew something was wrong after that and he kept calling her and calling her and one of her phones was off," Olievera said. "He called me and told me to keep calling my mom and to see if she was ok but there was no answer."
At around 9 p.m. Wednesday, Santiago's body was found in her truck on the La Porte Freeway frontage road just west of Loop 610.
Mejia says a cell phone search app shows his wife was taken to another location in Pearland, then to an apartment complex in Galveston.
"They took her to two to three places different than the one where they left her truck and her body," Olievera said.
Mejia says he was told one man forced his wife into her truck at the house under construction and two other men in a grey car followed them.
