HOUSTON - Police say an elderly man was shot Monday afternoon after shooting and killing his friend's health aide in Southeast Houston.

What we know:
The scene was at a home on Panay Drive off Bellfort Avenue near Jutland Road.
Police confirmed a woman was pronounced deceased at the scene, and a man is hospitalized in critical condition.
Another man is said to be detained in connection.
HPD Lieutenant Larry Crowson tells FOX 26 that a shooting call came in at around 1 p.m. Monday.
Officials later learned that a 90-year-old man was at his 87-year-old friend's home and had allegedly shot and killed the friend's health aide, a woman believed to be in her 40s.
The suspect was then followed into the garage by a friend of the aide, a man also possibly in his 40s. A gunshot went off inside the garage, and the 90-year-old was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to his head.
The man who followed the suspect is said to be giving a statement to detectives.
