The Harris County District Attorney's office is reviewing more than 1,400 criminal cases that involved Officer Gerald Goines. According to Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo, Goines lied in an affidavit justifying a deadly, no-knock raid on a home last month.
The FBI has opened a formal civil rights investigation into that deadly raid, which resulted in the deaths of a Houston couple.
