HOUSTON (FOX 26) - The former first lady known for her white hair and pearls has touched countless hearts from politicians to people on the street.
"I'm going to go out there. I know where they live. And I'm just sad," said supporter Clarissa Lockett.
Barbara Bush has a unifying nature about her loved by both political parties.
"Anytime when you have someone who can garner the support of democrats and republicans and everyone in between, that's her," said Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner.
"That night, Sunday, we couldn't sleep just thinking about her, because she's a great lady," said Fuzzy Hajjar, owner of Fuzzy's Pizza at 823 Antoine.
Fuzzy, a native of Syria, says he met the former president and first lady 25 years ago when they came to his restaurant.
"For me it was so important because it's the first time I see a president and his wife come into my store and I was so excited for them to try my food," Fuzzy said.
There's a Barbara Bush pizza on the menu.
"It's cheese, mushroom, spinach, chicken and artichoke hearts," Fuzzy said. "She loves that pizza."
Many people are praying Barbara Bush will be enjoying her signature pizza for weeks, months and years to come.
