HOUSTON (FOX 26) — Local and federal law enforcement agencies have learned that burglars cut holes into the Houston office of Congressman Al Green on Thursday. Holes were also cut into other neighboring offices in the building on the 610 South Loop West frontage road near Buffalo Speedway.
The burglary attempt was reported to Houston police before 9 a.m. Thursday. No items appear to have been taken from U.S. Rep. Green's office.
"We must be very much concerned about the safety of the public and the staff in all of the Congressional offices," said Rep. Green in a phone interview with FOX 26 News. "We've had some very ugly things to occur and need not recount them. But we have to be exceedingly cautious and we have to take everything seriously."
