Attempted restaurant burglary ends with three men in custody

Three men are in custody after an attempted burglary at a restaurant in the Fifth Ward.

Houston police received a call around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday from the owner of Los Jacales Restaurant  saying someoneon was breaking into his business.

When officers arrived, they spotted a male coming out of a hole he had busted on the side wall of the restaurant with a hammer and chisel. He had taken money from the restaurant's cash register.

Officers took him into custody.

The officers also noticed two men sitting in a truck across the street, possibly waiting for the suspect.

At last check, officers were still working on connecting the two men to the suspect, but they were arrested anyway on warrants.

They will likely face other charges if they're connected to the burglar.
