Analyzing the Oscar nominations

Nominations for The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Awards, better known as the 91st Oscars, were announced and leading the way tied at ten nominations apiece are the films "Roma" and "The Favourite."

"Roma" is the first Netflix film to be nominated for Best Picture. Among other films nominated for Best Picture are "Black Panther," the first superhero movie to achieve that status.

Spike Lee is nominated in the Directing category for his work on "BLACKKKLANSMAN."
