Account Executive

KRIV Fox 26/ KTXH My 20 the Fox O&O in Houston, TX are looking for an Account Executive. This AE is responsible for developing new business and selling digital and OTT products by maximizing opportunities and growing transactional accounts. This position requires someone who will identify opportunities and close new sales. The ideal candidate will prospect and aggressively pursue digital, OTT and new business advertisers. Provide strategic advice to help new television advertisers get the best ROI by working closely with them in a consultative role. The successful AE candidate must be able to identify qualified targets, use strong communication and presentation skills throughout the sales process and maintain a high closing ratio. We are looking for someone that can bring together all our resources [FLX/OTT, Top Rated Local News, FOX network, FOX sports, MyNetwork TV, Web/Digital Sponsorships and Promotions] in a creative manner to achieve a high level of results. Other responsibilities include but not limited to: strategically negotiating existing business along with obtaining incremental dollars from the existing market and building strong client relationships. Responsible for completing administrative tasks such as weekly forecasts, monthly reports, new business trackers, OTT trackers, weekly meeting forms and the credit and collection of all accounts.

Four-year college degree preferred. The ideal candidate will be a sales professional with preferred television sales experience and have a proven track record of success in sales. Knowledge of media math, TV ratings and web metrics is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Wide Orbit Sales and Traffic knowledge preferred. FLX Account Executive

Fox 26 Houston is currently seeking a Digital Account Executive to sell their FLX (Fox Local Extension) connected TV product and digital solutions. Candidates should be passionate and highly motivated about creating new business revenue opportunities by offering digital solutions to local businesses, agencies and their clients. The hired individual will need to be capable of scheduling appointments and generating new business. The role seeks a strategic individual who excels at cultivating relationships with decision makers from a variety of industries to enhance their business through OTT, Video, Display and Social Media platforms. The hired individual will be responsible for covering territories including but not limited to: Houston, South Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas. Must have valid driver’s license.

Your Responsibilities will include:

· Define the important business drivers for the customer and develop a strategy that uses Fox 26 digital advertising solutions to help grow the customer’s business.

· Key individual contributor to revenue, work against aggressive advertising revenue goals - need to hit the ground running and be a fast learner.

· Proactively build and grow a pipeline of sales targets, contacts, and sales opportunities via prospecting and leveraging your network relationships for success.

· Able to self-motivate and be accountable for revenue goals.

· Build strategic annual client partnerships by working closely with Digital Sales Manager and Fox Ad Operations.

· Gather marketplace insights to help build competitive responses and increase value propositions for the FLX 26 platform.

· Cultivate and maintain relationships with key decision makers at all levels, both client and agency.

· Maintain accurate reporting to manage prospects, client accounts, pipeline, and business forecasts.

· Own the entire sales process from outreach, negotiation, developing and presenting solution-oriented programs that meet the needs of the client.

· Generate leads through assertiveness and rapport with local business community while crafting strategy and goals into revenue.

Important To Have but Not Required

· The equivalent of 2+ years of digital sales multi-screen experience with buying models based on a CPM strategies, with a focus on digital video and OTT/CTV.

· Bi-Lingual Hispanic Speaking ability.

· Able to self-motivate and be accountable for revenue goals

· A demonstrated successful track record in closing deals of variable scale within key advertising categories and developing new business.

News Associate Producer

FOX 26, the multi-platform Fox owned and operated news and information operation in Houston is looking for an Associate Producer who’s ready to help us re-invent how local news and original programming is created and delivered. The ideal candidate will move seamlessly between linear and digital platforms, gathering and editing video elements, writing engaging headlines, teases and copy, along with building graphics for various platforms, as assigned by Producers and Executive Producers.  

At FOX 26, we train our Associate Producers to master their primary role, while also preparing to grow their careers as full-fledged Producers.  You’ll learn how to build news segments, create rundowns, manage breaking news and severe weather, and execute news programs in the control room. Once your training is complete, you’ll be expected to produce newscasts and other programs on a fill-in basis. You will also have the chance to field produce and gather content during big sporting events, election coverage, breaking news and local original specials.  

Houston is a fast-paced, breaking news and severe weather market of more than 7.5 million people. This position comes with tight deadlines, schedules that could include overnights, early mornings, evenings, and holidays. The ideal candidate must be willing to work any of these shifts and must be prepared to respond to "all-hands-on-deck" situations such as major breaking news events and natural disasters. 

A 4-year degree in journalism, media studies or related field is preferred.  At least one year’s experience working in digital media and/or a smaller television market is preferred.  Proficiency with Photoshop and desktop video editing software is preferred, but not required. News Reporter

KRIV FOX 26 / KTXH My20, the FOX Duopoly in HOUSTON, TX is re-imagining how local news is gathered and delivered. We’re hiring a reporter who loves breaking news and owning the big story of the day. Someone who understands that the role of a reporter must evolve to meet our audiences where they need us.  We’re big on non-traditional techniques that bring relevant, memorable, and impactful storytelling to our website, news and streaming apps, social platforms and eventually on linear television. 

The ideal candidate will have an ability to create content in ways that defy conventional thinking about television news. You’ll need to be a self-starter with excellent writing skills and have a vision for how each story will be told for different platforms. You’ll need to be able to shoot and edit video, although this is not considered an MMJ position. Strong live skills and the ability to meet frequent deadlines are critical for those breaking news and severe weather situations which often define the Houston news landscape.  
We set big goals for audience engagement on social platforms and the reporter will be given the tools to meet and exceed those goals. We also expect reporters to be adept at using social media to enhance their newsgathering and reach broader audiences while maintaining journalistic integrity. 

Minimum 3 years of experience on-camera in a medium to major market newsroom is preferred. Being bilingual is a preferred skill for this position. News Producer

KRIV FOX 26 in Houston is hiring a producer to create, plan and deliver the most compelling, informative, and entertaining hour of morning news in the city. This is an ultra-competitive news market, but Houston’s Morning Show is growing and beating the network morning shows regularly from 7-10am. We’re looking for a content rockstar who can move seamlessly from breaking news and severe weather coverage to live segments and studio guests that showcase everything our diverse community has to offer. 

You’ll need a sense of urgency and mastery of the control room environment and be ready to take live coverage on linear, streaming platforms or both at the same time. You’ll need to maintain a close relationship with our digital team to ensure that everything we do is tailored for the platforms we serve and that each piece of content we create works in support of our growing digital footprint. Other skills we’re looking for in the ideal candidate include: concise, accurate and audience-focused writing skills, the ability to edit video in support of live and studio segments, plus knowledge of social media best practices. 

When your show is over, you’ll jump into planning mode for the next day and beyond, working collaboratively with your teammates. You’ll participate in the editorial process along with anchors, reporters, assignment desk team members and managers to develop future stories and segments, keeping FOX 26 ahead of all local news outlets in creating the most compelling content for our audience.

Newscast Director

KRIV FOX 26, a multi-platform, FOX owned and operated news and information operation in Houston, TX has an opening for a Newscast Director. The ideal candidate has experience using both manual and automated professional broadcast software/switchers to direct live newscasts, original programs, specials, wall-to-wall breaking news, severe weather coverage and other programing for both linear and digital platforms. The newscast director must also have demonstrated experience coding newscasts, including cameras, graphics and audio. The director will prepare show rundowns, coordinating all live shots and cues. Must have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a passion for innovation, daring to be different each day. You’ll work closely with producers, on air talent, and production staff to break through the clutter of local news and stand out to our audience on all platforms, current and emerging. The director will lead camera crews, audio operator, and floor director, as needed. A minimum of two years’ experience directing and/or technical directing on-air for live news programing required. The ability to operate a broad range of production equipment, including character generators, audio consoles and master control equipment is desired. Lighting design experience is also a plus. If you love breaking news, creating compelling multi-platform content and great storytelling, KRIV, the Fox O&O in Houston has the perfect position for you. We're looking for a talented and passionate photographer-editor who can shoot and edit in the field.  Must be a self-starter, be able to handle live breaking news events, work well under pressure and work collaboratively with other content creators in the newsroom while maintaining all legal and journalistic standards.  The position requires the ability to complete tasks with a quick turnaround for traditional linear newscasts in addition to digital platforms such as our FOX Local Streaming App, Fox26.com and social media sites. Must have familiarity with various transmission technologies including cellular backpack technology (such as Live U), microwave and news satellite trucks. Must have knowledge of non-linear editing software, Edius or a similar platform.  You may be required to set up live remotes on your own and complete other assignments independently as necessary. Good writing skills are a plus. 

Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred. Experience as a photographer editor in a medium to large market preferred. Ideal candidate should have familiarity with newsroom computer systems. Candidate must be able to do some traveling as required.  Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
