What's Your Point? - tale of two prisoners

At the age of 21 in 2004, Chris Young murdered a San Antonio store owner during a robbery. While in prison, Young repented, eased racial-tension on Texas Death Row, reportedly saved a guard from assault and prevented a suicide. The murder victim’s son, Mitesh Patel, requested mercy for his father’s killer.

Those arguments failed to persuade the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles to grant clemency, the same clemency recently granted to Thomas Whitaker, a suburban, privileged Caucasian, who as a college student, orchestrated the murder of his mother and brother for money.

Attorneys for young contend the different outcomes illustrate a racial bias which allowed Whitaker to live and Young to be executed.

The What's Your Point? panel includes Republican strategist Jessica Colon, attorney Nyanza Moore, former Texas State Representative Steve Toth, Super Neighborhood leader Tomaro Bell, Chicano activist & educator Tony Diaz and Eastside conservative contributor Warren Fawcett.
