Carolina Sanchez

Host of The Nightcap

Carolina Sanchez started behind-the-scenes at FOX 26 and is beyond excited to take on the host role of the station's new late-night program, The Nightcap.

Originally from Dallas, Carolina decided early on to pursue a future in journalism while writing for her middle school newspaper. After graduating with a journalism and sociology degree from New York University, she worked at FOX News Channel where she wrote, produced and worked in the field.

In late 2013, Carolina moved to Houston and joined FOX 26 as an AP before transitioning to the digital team. She led the station's coverage for major events and special projects, including the Pope's U.S. visit during the World Meeting of Families, Super Bowl LI, Heroes of Harvey, and multiple World Cups.

Carolina eventually found herself in front of the camera in 2018, when she launched the station's social media news show The Break. For her work in that role, Carolina won a Telly Award and received two Emmy Award nominations, including for host of a program.

When she's not working, Carolina's likely on the road with her family, stuffing her face, thinking about maybe working out, or leaving an imprint on the couch while watching TV and scrolling social.
