Tropical Storm Harvey likely to bring rain to Houston-area for 4 days

Harvey, once a tropical storm then a tropical depression has developed into a tropical storm again in the Gulf of Mexico and headed toward the Texas coast.

Extending from Liberty County to Harris County, a tropical storm watch is in effect all the way down Interstate 10 toward Columbus.

A hurricane watch extends from Brazoria County all the way down to Corpus Christi.

Galveston County remains under the tropical storm watch, although we will see how that changes as the tropical system develops.

To the north of the Houston area, anyone not in the watch areas will still have concerns from flooding.

The storm system is showing more signs of organization with plenty of energy, convection and tropical moisture. It will produce rainfall as it approaches the Texas coast. The various computer models are indicating landfall in or near Corpus Christi, but from there, the system may stall or change direction.

The system is projected to start Friday and continue into Saturday, Sunday and Monday, bringing a lot of rain to the Houston area.
