Students mobilize for Saturday's March for Our Lives rally in Houston

Over a million Americans prepare to participate in the March for Our Lives protest in Washington, DC. this Saturday, March 24--speaking out about gun reform after the deadly Parkland School shooting.  In Houston, thousands of students prepare for a March for Our Lives rally to take place this Saturday, right in the heart of the city, in Tranquility Park. located at 400 Rusk Street.

Thousands of students, teachers, and parents plan to participate in Houston, with a rally starting at 9 a.m in Tranquility Park on Saturday. All the details for the March are outlined on the Facebook page, March for Our Lives Houston. Organizers expect approximately 20,000 people to attend.  Houston students from high schools all across the city are expected to join in a call to end gun violence. "It's quite inspiring, if not a little sad. I have so much empathy and pride for the Parkland students...for stepping up and doing something that should have been done by adults a long time ago."

Rally participants will start arriving around 8:15 a.m., including student organizers. There will be 78 schools that are attending. Mayor Turner is slated to talk at 9am at Tranquility Park. Carnations or Roses will be sold to remember students who were killed by gun violence and to commemorate their lives on a memorial.
