Ranch donates a pony to family of 'Chicken Nugget'

LIBERTY COUNTY, Texas (FOX 26) - A little girl from Liberty County who was devastated after someone killed beloved pony is getting a new pony thanks to a ranch in New Mexico.

5-year-old  Riley Brett was heartbroken after someone shot and killed her best friend “Chicken Nugget”. After hearing her story, a ranch in New Mexico has decided to give her a pony in the same bloodline as Chicken Nugget.

The pony will arrive within a week. Riley is calling her Chicken Nugget's sister. The family is thinking of naming the new pony “Chicken Wing".

The Brett family is hoping someone will come forward with information on who shot and killed Chicken Nugget. The animal was popular at local rodeos and festivals. The family believes the shooting was no accident.
